World Tennis Challenge are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help deliver Adelaide's premier tennis event in 2010. This is your opportunity to get involved in the excitement that is the World Tennis Challenge!

Volunteers of all ages and with a range of skills are an integral part of running the World Tennis Challenge – one of Adelaide’s biggest sporting events.

Aged between 12 and 75, volunteers at the World Tennis Challenge 2009 performed such diverse roles as ballkids, court service assistants, ushers and drivers.

Darren Cahill

Darren Cahill is a legend of Australian tennis and is our current Davis Cup Coach.  The former coach of Lleyton Hewitt and Andre Agassi , Darren is one of the most sort after coaches in the world.  A former top international player and semi-finalist at the US Open, Darren now combines his tennis coaching with designing tennis programs as well as being a Director of World Tennis Challenge.  He is the current Davis Cup Coach with Tennis Australia.  Darren is the WTC Director of Player Acquisition.

Roger Rasheed

Roger Rasheed has coached some of Australia’s greatest players including Alicia Molik and Lleyton Hewitt.  He was also an international touring player and was the youngest player to qualify for the Australian Open until his protégée Lleyton Hewitt eclipsed him at his first ever open.  Roger is now a sort after tennis coach involved with some of the top juniors in Australia.  Roger combines his tennis coaching with commentary work, public speaking and being a Director of WTC.  Roger is the  WTC Director of Marketing and Sponsorship.

Mark Woodforde

Mark Woodforde has over 17 grand slam titles to his name and has been involved in some of Australia’s most exciting Davis Cup matches.  Best known as one half of the "Woodies" he has also been a two time past champion of the Adelaide International.  Mark has been Co-tournament Director of the Australian Men’s Hardcourt (Adelaide International) for the past three years and is also a Director of WTC.  Mark is the WTC Director of Player Acquisition.

Jim Courier

An adopted "Aussie" in January, Jim has become part of our lives during the Australian open.  Jim is also most famous for his tennis abilities where has been a past champion of the US Open, Australian Open and French Open.  He dominated men’s tennis in the early nineties and was number one in the world.  He now is the Director of InsideOut Entertainment coordinating events in the US, including the Outback Steak Senior Tour.  Jim has developed the seniors tour from one event to now hosting seven with a need for bigger stadiums.  Jim is the WTC Director of International relations.

Alistair MacDonald

Alistair "Ali" MacDonald is the current CEO of Tennis SA with over 18,000 players registered and over 300 affiliates joining Tennis SA.  Although the "odd" one out with his tennis background, Ali competed at the University of Texas on a tennis scholarship and travelled through the USA and Europe on "feeder tour".  Ali is the WTC Director of Operations and General Manager of World Tennis Challenge and WTC Be Active Challenge.

David Hearne

David coordinates all tennis activities and player services of the WTC Be Active Challenge.  His role is to  work closely with WTC Directors to ensure that venues, events, tournament directors and player activities are all coordinated throughout the duration of the carnival. David oversees each of the competition coordinators to ensure all participants have a great WTC experience in Adelaide.

Sean Barrett

Sean is World Tennis Challenge’s Marketing and Sponsorship Manager.  Sean leads the team in regards to WTC marketing activities, servicing corporate partners and showcasing the WTC Be Active Corporate Challenge to the world.  Sean will execute the marketing plan on behalf of the WTC Management group with direction from WTC Directors and WTC executive Board, whilst servicing sponsors of both WTC and WTC Be Active Challenge.

Adam Renfrey

Adam is World Tennis Challenge's Public Relations Manager. He will execute a public relations plan in conjunction with the General Manager and the Marketing and Sponsorship Manager of World Tennis Challenge.  Adam is responsible for media releases, liaising with media and organising promotional events and activities for WTC. He will action the editorial sponsorship through our media partners and ensure that players are active and engage with various events and promotional opportunities throughout the event.

Sue BarberSue Barber

Sue is World Tennis Challenge's Operations Manager and is responsible for the Site Management of the World Tennis Challenge.  Sue works with councils, volunteers, staff and tournament directors to ensure that both participants and spectators enjoy their WTC experience in Adelaide.

   

Anne-Marie HandkeAnne-Marie Handke

Anne-Marie is responsible for the delivering of two key functions in the WTC Be Active Challenge – WTC Tennis Hot Shots and the coordination of volunteers. Anne-Marie brings vast experience to the Volunteer management through her involvement with the Adelaide International.

   

Sarah Linke

Sarah works closely with the General Manager, Public Relations Manager and Marketing and Sponsorship Manager to deliver outstanding events during the World Tennis Challenge.Sarah shares a pivotal role to provide memorable events for social and competition participants in the WTC and WTC Be Active Challenge. Sarah will also be responsible for management of the Les Tapp Junior Inter-Association which will encompass over 500 participants across Adelaide.
